In response to World Environment Day (June 5) and World Oceans Day (June 8), NS BlueScope Vietnam Co., Ltd has partnered with the Dat Do District People’s Committee in collaboration with partner companies, including INSEE Vietnam, Akzo Nobel Vietnam, PPG Vietnam, and China Steel Sumikin Vietnam, to organize the “CLEAN OCEAN WITH BLUESCOPE” program to collect and sort plastic waste on the local beach in Phuoc Hai town, Dat Do district, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province. The program saw the participation of 150 NS BlueScope Vietnam employees, 50 employees of partner companies, and more than 100 local people, who collected nearly 100 kilograms of plastic waste.

Mr VO MINH NHUT, President of NS BlueScope Viet Nam said: “We always care about environmental protection. We look forward to accompanying the community in taking action to mitigate the impact of plastic waste on Vietnam’s marine environment. This activity is a testament to NS BlueScope Vietnam’s continuous efforts to contribute to the development of the community, thereby creating community effects and connecting our employees and partners in environmental protection.”

Lấy chủ đề “BIỂN SẠCH – NÓI KHÔNG VỚI RÁC THẢI NHỰA”, bên cạnh hoạt động thu gom rác thải nhựa, chương trình “BIỂN SẠCH CÙNG BLUESCOPE” tổ chức nhiều hoạt động đa dạng và phong phú khác, gồm: Trao tặng 10 thùng rác công cộng đặt dọc bờ biển cho Ủy ban Nhân dân Thị trấn Phước Hải và 50 thùng rác cho các hộ gia đình sinh sống dọc biển nhằm nâng cao ý thức của người dân về việc bỏ rác đúng nơi quy định, hạn chế sự ô nhiễm gây ra cho môi trường biển và hạn chế rác thải nhựa; Tuyên truyền trực tiếp về tác hại của nhựa đối với môi trường biển và tổ chức game show với các từ khóa liên quan tới chủ đề của chương trình nhằm tiếp tục nâng cao hơn nữa ý thức bảo vệ môi trường biển của người dân địa phương khi môi trường biển bị rác thải nhựa tấn công. Cũng trong khuôn khổ chương trình, NS BlueScope VN và các đối tác đã trao tặng 50 suất học bổng cho trẻ em nghèo hiếu học tại địa phương.
